FairCommit pilot terms
Effective August 26, 2026 · For adult participants and controlled test accounts.
Purpose
FairCommit is a development-evidence and grading workflow for programming education. It is not an AI detector. Review Priority organizes evidence for human review and is not proof of misconduct.
Authorized use
You may use the pilot only for an authorized course or controlled evaluation. Keep your account, class code, GitHub access, and paired-device credentials secure. Do not access another person’s work, interfere with telemetry, probe another organization’s records, or use the service to violate school policy, law, or GitHub’s terms.
Student work and repositories
Students retain their rights in their work subject to applicable institutional policies. The participating institution controls assignment repositories and grants FairCommit limited access needed to provision repositories, validate commits, and display metadata. FairCommit does not claim ownership of student source code.
Academic decisions
Instructors and institutions remain responsible for rubrics, grades, academic-integrity decisions, accommodations, appeals, and compliance with their own policies. FairCommit scores may guide review but must not be used as an automatic penalty or as the sole basis for a misconduct finding.
Pilot availability
The pilot is provided for evaluation and may change, experience interruptions, or contain defects. Back up important work through GitHub. To the extent permitted by law, FairCommit is provided without warranties and is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from pilot use.
Suspension and termination
Access may be suspended for security risk, abuse, unauthorized activity, or an institution’s request. A participant may stop using the pilot and request account deletion, subject to records that must be retained for legitimate academic, legal, or security obligations.
